YOUR ARTS PROGRAM ASSESSMENT REPORT

Congratulations! Your program is...

MOVIN' RIGHT ALONG

"Movin' right along / Footloose and fancy-free / Getting there is half the fun, come share it with me." - The Muppets Movie, "Movin Right Along"

Based on your responses, it seems like things in your arts program are in pretty good shape. However, there may be some issues lurking below the surface to be addressed before they boil over.

Your program is part of a delicate ecosystem of community members, curricula, and culture. One small change can have a major impact on everything else. Rather than leaving it all up to chance, this is the time to get ahead of the issues, sure up your faculty, and go from good to great.

WHAT THIS MEANS

Does any of this sound like you and your program?

BURNOUT IS ON THE HORIZON

You or your teachers are starting to show signs of burnout.

Burnout looks different in every person, but the hallmarks are exhaustion, cynicism, and inefficiency. Maybe a lot of sarcasm is showing up in staff meetings. Or teachers are looking glazed over, even while teaching. Outcomes and results are slipping. Burnout has serious consequences for teachers, students, and the community as a whole.

THE CURRICULUM IS BEING IGNORED

You have a great curriculum that is not being implemented.

You did the work to create a fresh, new curriculum! Awesome! Now what? It’s so frustrating when you have a great plan but now it’s not being executed. What was all that work for, anyway? Maybe teachers don’t have the right resources to make it come to life, or they don’t see how the new curriculum applies to what they want to do.

YOU WANT MORE DIVERSITY

You have high hopes and goals for diversity and inclusion, but aren't achieving them.

You want diversity, equity, and inclusion to be at the core of what you do. Excellent. But you are still noticing that the populations in your arts program do not match the rest of your school or community. Maybe there is a distinct change in demographics as students move from elementary to high school. You know what you want to see in your programs, but have no idea where to start.

CAN'T SHAKE BAD BEHAVIORS

Student behavior is taking up more of your time than you'd like.

You know that no classroom is “perfect” (what does that mean, anyway?!) but student behavior is still your number 1 issue. Students might be disengaged, lashing out, arguing, or skipping class all together. It’s enough to make a teacher throw their hands up in defeat!

COMMON PITFALLS

Things are moving right along... right?

"IT'S GOOD ENOUGH."

Good enough for whom? If you aren’t serving all students with equity and dignity, there is still work to be done.

"WE WIN ALL THE COMPETITIONS! CAN'T ARGUE WITH SUCCESS!"

Congrats! Winning a competition feels great, but doesn’t always mean everyone is getting what they need out of the experience. Don’t let any cracks in your program turn into canyons.

"TIME FOR CRUISE CONTROL."

Your students are always changing– and they should be! What works now may not work next year. Are you able to adapt?

WHAT YOU CAN DO

You can upgrade your program in three simple steps:

1(3)

SET THE STAGE: Uncover the core values amongst your students, staff, and community with the power of data

2(3)

ENVISION THE OUTCOMES: Create a values based mission and ultimate outcomes for your entire program that are grounded in equity and connection

3(3)

CREATE AN INDIVIDUALIZED PLAN: Promote buy-in and prevent burn-out with personalized growth and implementation plans for each teacher

DON'T HOPE... ACT!

If you’re ready to stop hoping things will get better, ready to have a guide through a complete transformation, ready to sure up your program’s legacy, let’s get started today!
